How Waitless works

Waitless helps South East Queensland families find speech pathology clinics with the shortest wait. Here is how the directory is built, kept current, and ordered, in plain terms.

How listings are built

Listings start from public sources, such as public business directories, so the directory is useful from day one rather than waiting for clinics to sign up. A clinic can then claim its listing to manage its own details and confirm its availability directly.

How we keep listings current

Every listing shows the date we last checked it, so you can judge how recent the information is. A regular automated check keeps listing details fresh, and we ask claimed clinics to re-confirm their availability so a listing reflects something recent rather than something we found once and never looked at again. Availability shown as not confirmed means a clinic has not confirmed it with us recently, not that it is closed.

How clinics are ranked

The ordering is built around availability. Clinics that confirm they are taking new clients appear first, followed by those with shorter waits. Among similar clinics we favour ones with recently confirmed, current information, and those closer to the area you searched. Google ratings are shown for context and play only a minor part in the order.

Clinics cannot pay to rank higher. Claiming a listing is free, and the order is based on availability, freshness, and relevance, not on payment. Clinics that choose to receive enquiries are charged separately for those leads, and that has no effect on where they appear.

Honesty

We describe listings as listed, self-reported, or last checked, rather than claiming to have independently checked every clinic. Speech pathologists are self-regulated through Speech Pathology Australia rather than AHPRA, so a listing is not an endorsement, and you should confirm a clinician's current membership and suitability with the clinic before booking.
